Sivota or Mourtos, a seaside tourist center in an area full of olive trees and beautiful beaches with unique coasts. During the Turkish domination the village was called Mourtos, but in 1959 the naval battle of Sivota, which happened in 433 BC, gave its name to Sivota.

Located only 24 km south of Igoumenitsa, opposite of Corfu. The natural beauty of the region attracts Greek and foreign travelers, showing considerable increase in recent years. Sivota, with Plataria, Faskomilia, Skorpina, Argyrotopo and Polyneri consist the Municipality of Sivota, based in Plataria.
